Hydraulic and Hydrostatic Pump and Motor Repair
When a hydraulic pump or motor starts losing pressure, the machine gets slower before it stops, and most operators lose weeks of production guessing at it. Southern Industrial Hydraulics diagnoses, rebuilds, adjusts and calibrates hydraulic and hydrostatic pumps and motors in Eunice, Louisiana, and rebuilds them to the manufacturer own specification rather than to whatever will get the unit out the door.
What we do with a pump or motor
- Diagnose the actual fault instead of replacing parts in sequence
- Rebuild hydraulic pumps and hydraulic motors
- Rebuild hydrostatic pumps and hydrostatic motors
- Adjust and calibrate to manufacturer specification
- Test before the unit goes back to you
How do I know if my hydraulic pump is going bad?
The usual signs are a whining or knocking noise under load, the machine running slower than it used to, heat in the reservoir, foam or milky fluid, and pressure that reads low on a gauge even when the system is full. A pump rarely fails all at once. It loses efficiency first, which is why the machine feels tired for weeks before it quits. Catching it at the noise stage is the difference between a rebuild and a replacement.
What is the difference between a hydraulic and a hydrostatic rebuild?
A hydrostatic drive is a closed loop, so the pump and motor work as a matched pair and a fault in one shows up as a symptom in the other. That means a hydrostatic rebuild has to account for both halves and for the charge pressure between them, and it has to be calibrated after assembly rather than simply reassembled. We rebuild both, and we calibrate hydrostatic units before they leave.
How long does a pump or motor rebuild take?
You get a time estimate in writing before we start, after we have the unit open and know what is wrong. Turnaround depends on what the teardown finds and on parts availability for your make and model, so we quote it honestly rather than promising a number we cannot hold.
